I completely agree. Albums are like statics, gigs more like mobile homes ...

good for you folks that you prefer to listen bootlegs rather that something proper released. maybe i'll step on that "higher spiritual level of no need" too, someday, someday ... but now i'm melting in hell's tar of nonunderstanding politics of our "fearless" leader _________________ long live rock'n'roll |

You got that wrong: I prefer attending gigs. --> As long as The Sisters continue to play live shows I'm happy. _________________ Celebrations done, more to come, hopefully.

nah. where did you found that i don't like going on gigs, and where is the rule that if they put out new album there will be no more concerts?
me just think that don't want new album is just too big perversion for me nobody of sound mind can't say like this! jesus. maybe i can accept this in kind of thinking "oh now i don't wanna new album, so maybe it'll come someday, if i'll be such humble person, but hush etc." but this is stupid anyhow.
new album must be, understand?
i've got a bad day, so folks, close your left eye for me _________________ long live rock'n'roll |

Yes, message clear and understood... Now let's wait a while and find out if anything's gonna happen
In the meanwhile, let's listen to some fine bootlegs. _________________ http://www.synthetica.nl

The strange thing is, the only reason the discussion inevitably seems to be taking this direction is that there is no new album.
I really really love Roxy Music, Iggy Pop... do I care if they put out new albums? Hell no! Noone does! I mean, Ferry and Iggy do put out a new album here and there, sometimes, but none of their fans goes "bloody hell, it's so damn important that Iggy put out a new album. I just couldn't forgive him if he didn't!"
I've seen Iggy saying, laughing, in a show "I can't write a song like Now I Wanna Be Your Dog anymore. But I can play it like noone else."
Now that I have said this, I will get down from my soap box |

So Von's glorious quest has finally ended in admitted failure. I can't find it right away, but I remember a bunch of interviews he did in the 87-92 period saying "we have no interest in being a cult band, if you're not at least trying to be #1 pop idols it's not worth the effort". He even tried going to the effort to scare "the cult" (i.e. goffs) away. Now... screw it? _________________ "We're Hawkwind and this is a song about love." |

It's a realistic statement, that also goes for The Sisters and as a matter of fact for all bands that peaked in the 80's. _________________ http://www.synthetica.nl

But its not realistic, he quite clearly has a bunch of excellent unreleased songs that prove he can still write as well as ever.
Gigs are good.
Albums are good.
I want both and they shouldn't be mutually exclusive.
And on that note, no more new album chat from me! |

Still hunting for pics. They'd better be lots & good, to explain the annoying presence of those photographers right in front of me
The Sisters were (the only band) not present at the press conference. But there were some interviews apparently.

... hell, lachert ... at the moment, it's just not the time for a new album ... doesn't take a higher spiritual level to see that ...
Unfortunately, there's a 30th anniversary tour to come ... ...
so when should they develop and record an album that were more than a mere excerpt of what we get all the time ... ... |
