Re: But Genevieve
To be honest I think you are totally right :) And I think I have read interviews or other info suggesting something like that (writing, translating?)...but one can hope. I do however think he does find some fulfilment in living off the Sisters too/instead, since it's *his* project. And that project ...

Re: But Genevieve
Yeah, my fault being unclear, I really wanted to compare merch sales with releasing product as an alternative to touring - that they earn the most from playing live is a fact I guess - but is it not possible at all to live from releases anymore? Not even for a fairly well-known midsize band like the...

Re: But Genevieve
We're far more likely to see more t-shirts and other merchandise as this is a far greater source of income nowadays for most bands. I don't doubt they sell a few shirts now and then even when they're not touring, but I really doubt they could live off merch sales unless they expand and promote thei...

Re: But Genevieve
I generally agree totally with what Todashi is saying, but I'm slightly more optimistic - Von will be forced to rethink his Sisters strategy and needs to find a(nother) reliable source of income. We all know it's increasingly unlikely even the March 2021 tour will take place, and in fact the live mu...

Re: Book: Waiting For Another War
Trevor sent the book incredibly quick - I thought it was the payment confirmation but it was also the shipping confirmation, just a few minutes after purchase! :notworthy: Now however, it's stuck at the German customs in Frankfurt airport since this weekend. I hope they release it as soon as they've...

Re: Sisters 2020
Is an online gig, like our friends from BD3 are doing in October, now the most likely option for the similar 'birthday' event in February? I don't see how a Sisters gig could work online or be enjoyable without being there in the smoke and lights and really a much better sound experience as well. I...

Re: Rescheduled! 2021-03-06. Manège Fonck , Liege BE
As long as it doesn't require wearing a face mask at the gig I'm still in.. I'm beginning to wonder how long the Sisters can hold out without any income except the odd merchandise sales. AE has said in several interviews that they don't have to release anything as long as people are still going to t...

Re: NEW SONGS!
What do you think?? Well, I think it's a good sign for us that he doesn't mention any band names, and that he implies lock-down means productivity and creativity. Other than that, well what can we do in 2020 except wait...as I've said before, the Sisters have the opportunity of a lifetime now to pr...

I'm almost certain, but only almost, that Von wrote "miserable old git" or "sad old git" or something like that about him in one of the UTR fan correspondences, must have been #13, 14, or 15 since I didn't start subscribing until towards the end. The most fascinating thing about this is not his opin...

If I remember rightly initially there was talk of a second night option, but the sluggish sales nixed that. To be honest the promotional aspect wasn't great. Interesting to read this and other posts, I have always thought the Sisters were a big band already at the time of RAH 85, and then it appear...

Do you think that the cancelled tour and the corona pandemic makes the possibility of future recordings/releases seem more likely or less likely? I can't see how it could be less likely, unless :von: himself catches Corona and it turns bad.. Otherwise it should be far easier to get the boys into a ...

A bit annoying maybe, but I'm sure this one will very likely sell out as well eventually - provided the situation has returned back to normal by then (if it hasn't, we'll have bigger problems than Sisters gigs). Promoters are literally fighting for their survival right now, so I guess they are unwil...

True that, but these guys have raised the quality of the recordings to unprecedented levels, and have made them available to all directly after the gig. I would also like to mention this recorder, Thomas Vanderstappen (is he on HL?) while I'm at it, amazing recordings of the Brussel gigs last year, ...

I guess that includes even the dates in Spain ... but not those in summer ... Who knows, perhaps they’ll use the time to go into studio. That album won’t finish itself  The have a unique opportunity to do precisely that right now. Tinkering Andrew wants 6 months (in one of the interviews ...
