Sisters - A Tangent Universe Recording History

April 1995 Single: Sight of the Angels; B Side: Not Without Cause Melody Maker Review: " 'Sight of Angels ' marks the opening salvo to the upcoming and long-awaited (citation needed) 4th Sisters album 'Kissed by Night' - a title one might guess is merely revelling in Grand Demiurge Von's rictus iron...

Angels of Liberty. Theyz good “My mother said I broke her heart...but it was my integrity that was important. Is that so selfish? It sells for so little, but it's all we have left in this place. It is the very last inch of us...but within that inch we are free.â€ ― Alan Moore, V for Vendetta

Because if the reason they've disappeared live this year is because something is happening, that would make the fact that new Star Wars movies are coming as exciting as a conversation about the weather with the newsagent.

Female singer at London 'Dark Christmas' '93

Anyone know who this was? I wasnae there. Quite liked hearing traditionally Von-only Sisters tracks with female vox, though. Terri Nunn maybe?

It isn't possible to 'overrate' a Sisters track - though I do find Vision Thing a much maligned album round these here parts, hot diggity. Much as I love Wayne and Gary's work, I'm just basically a metal guitar whore. And Ribbons is the best of the best of the best - SIR!!

Totally ludicrous. And the girl looks like a Ukranian hooker. BUT, it does show how I wish The Sisters would come out and be a real rock band... just for one tour. Get a drummer, get a bass player, get a synth player, don't sequence anything, just rock it. Personally, I think it would be meaner tha...

Seriously underwhelmed by it. Still think Ben is a great talent and his work on this is good, but OMG how much of a doosh cock-rocker is the singer? Can't imagine many fans of the Girls would have broad enough taste to go for this. Ben must have loved the more AOR moments of VT. Judging by :v...

@Euphoria You're mostly right but :von: does seem to be enjoying the interview process at the moment and giving fairly straight answers rather than the evasive, mickey-taking third person non-answers we have got used to over the years. all the sisters up to and including the floodland album has very distinctive drum fills and snare rolls. the FALAA stuff in particular has really memorably and recognisable snare rolls: the title track, walk away, nttc, logic, etc stuff since VT doesn't really have that same level of attention to d...

This thread is like a shambling zombie. Every time you think it's finally dead (as dead as dreams of another record) it lurches back to life, moaning "braaains. BRAAAAAAAAAINS" (or "seeedeeee. SEEEEEEEEEDEEEEEEEEEE!"). And yet every time the thread pops up, you go and read it - funny old world
