Death Sucks....

This is a topic I normally wouldn't raise around here, especially considering that I have better things to be doing right now - like dancing and drinking in a venue up the road, but anyway.... Lost anyone to death? Life just gets more and more serious , doesn't it? I vaguely know a guy - no names, o...

I partied hard on New Year's Eve, 2000, coz I knew I wouldn't be here on New Year's Eve 3000.

Does this fit into the general theme of this topic??!?

If only you knew what was going on around here....

I take it that this was before eBay, Amazon.com and free downloads from www.limewire.com then? I had a ball getting free songs off the LimeWire site (even if I never figured out how to burn them onto a CD after I'd stored them on my computer) but now it seems I can't download anything until I cough ...

I thought the only way to live was in cars? ;D :innocent: :von: ---- Doesn't it make you cringe, hearing that sort of music now? But it appeals to the new generation of goths who weren't around when it was first released. They'll learn. Are you *insane*?! I LURVE Mr. Numan as much now as when I fir...

The biggest changes we make as individuals are invisible to the eye. You begin to get over it when your mind becomes occupied by other things/people.

Eldo can't. His voice is too nasal-y. I don't know how he hid it so well on earlier recordings. Clearly his voice wasn't strong enough for the souped-up sounds of the Vision Thing album.

Yeah, it's called the "University of HK" - the school of hard knocks! Once in a while in hockey I've taken hits where I could barely pick myself up from the ice. But it's always my aim to get up real fast. Watching kids skate or fall, and then watching adults who are learning to skate, you see such ...

Black Friday - Part II

James's current dilemma had me thinking... there have been many instances in world history where a David has beaten a Goliath - just watch the 'McLibel' documentary. What the Viet Cong did to the US during the Vietnam war may be another. What's your fave "under-dog wins-out" story?

Anthony Robbins, the peak-performance coach and author, says "if you're not in a relationship, you've chosen not to be hurt". End of story. Which is a bit like saying ' if you're not sitting with your hand in the fire, you've chosen not be hurt'. The logic of that is being in a relationship is choo...

I agree with Ocean Moves' attitude as it basically sums up my own outlook. Life is for the living, and there's no shame in bombing out now and then. It'll happen anyway, whether you like it or not. I was listening to a radio report about teenage depression once - how it's on the rise and all that. A...

Write down what they say in the meeting. It's not just a discussion. Take notes of their claims or comments.

The big houses of lawyers are built on this stuff.

Good advice, Black Alice. Note everything that happens, writing it on your hand if necessary. Don't rely on memory - get it down in writing. Companies who know how to weazel their way out of their responsibilities are the norm, not the exception.

Re: Kylie

Just when I thought Kylie Minogue was perfect proof that people can still be young (or even cute, still) in their 30s, news broke today that she has breast cancer. So she's now older is she? Or less cute? Or am I missing something? --- Perhaps my initial point is that time does indeed catch up with...

Good luck. I've seriously fecked-over a few companies who've shafted me in business. And, yes, if they're dodgy, their competitors will pay for your info, sometimes. Gloriously rewarding activity. The bigger they are, the harder they fall! :D

- at the end all my fault. No. Classic alchoholic behaviour. Drag the people around you down to make you feel better. His probem, not yours. --- I enjoy a drink, but I enjoy it even more in moderation. Have you ever woken up the next morning (or afternoon) and said "I'm never gonna drink again!" or...
