I think I may have to give a class in amphetamine terminology at some point...

Do you get why it's "one more night spent on the mirror"?

A warning from history

-OR-

Another shameful anecdote from markfiend's misspent youth

If you ever fancy spending a night "on the wire", check that what you buy doesn't taste of lemon.

Snorting a line of Lemsip is A Bad Thing. :innocent:

One good thing about "Touching From A Distance" is that it has all Ian Curtis's lyrics in the back. Now there's a cheerful read!

Whoa! I can't believe you've got Kiss The Carpet and Fix up there!

Anyhoo, I'd probably plump for "something else".
It's not really a case of "worst", more like "least favourite" but I was never a big fan of "Poison Door".

If you tell the Uni that's what you're planning now, they might give you a conditional offer?

That's a real pain! Why not see if your local 6th form college or whatever can fit you in on a quickie science GCSE course now? OK, it'll mean you're a year later doing the teacher-training, but it might be worth a shot.

But then, I think it'd be better to crucify her than just shoot her. Make the bitch suffer.

I don't think this applies in the same way to Good Things. Even assuming the spoiling idea, I think there would be no point spoiling bootleg trade from Good Things since, AFAIK the Sisters have never made any money from it anyway, and have nothing out in competition with it...It would have looked o...

Euh actually, I thought they were planning to reease it, but someone stole the demo version and spread it around as a bootleg, so Andrew didn't want to release it anymore?anyone? Interesting theory, and not without its merits, but perhaps if this were the case, then Good Things might have ended up ...

Apologies. Apparently freewebs (who host my site) have been experiencing bandwidth issues recently. They claim to have updated their servers, so everything should be resolved by tomorrow.

Random Simon D anecdote.

Once upon a time... After being kicked out of Leeds Uni and out of my flat, I moved in with some dodgy characters named Aled, Dean and Birdy. (Those names may ring a bell with some Leeds folks I suspect.) Anyway, one day in mid '93 (I think) I bought a second-hand copy of "Natural History" (for abou...

It reminds me of the time Dennis Pennis worked his magic on Helena Christensen:

DP: Why did the supermodel stare at the orange juice for an hour?
HC: I don't know.
DP: Because it said "concentrate" on the bottle.
HC: I don't get it.

While I'm digging up old threads... Saw Von (shadeless) at the Blank Canvas Saturday gig. Clocked him immediately, thought "I'll play it cool and not hassle him". Mrs markfiend came over and I said "look who it is". Von was kind of hiding in a corner, and he saw us gawping, smirked and lit another c...

Is it just me, or does the word "hoovering" in a context of The Sisters conjure up a rather different mental image to the one Paddy (probably) means?

Housework on the wire? At least you'd get it done quickly...
