I agree, whilst a fan of the GM/BG days, you have to admit that WH well earned his spurs in those few months.

The poncho was a bit naff though, as he was told at the time lol.

But anyway...

Look forward to the gigs and whatever dubious cover that I might be seen shaking a leg to in Leeds and Manca.

If it's Tower Of Strength I'll get the beers in lol x

Having known them at the time I think you'll find it was largely a publicity game by both sides. All parties have pretty much agreed to this over the years.

Too many people reading things into rather old press cuttings nowadays without an understanding of the times.

For the more elderly amongst us, especially those who went to college further up the hill, Leeds Beckett is formerly the Poly and Leeds Met.

As an ageing Liverpudlian I am learning to share football pain. Mind you the picture above showing the cover of Thin Lizzy's Live and Dangerous made me smile big style. Surely the best live rock'n'roll album ever.

Was indeed the Tuesday night, free to get in, and my first Sisters gig too, @Swinnow . This gig was the subject of the first post on my blog, if your memory needs jogging any further. Hard to believe that they recorded it within a couple of weeks of it coming out. The Furs and The Sisters played Yo...

The Sisters supported The Furs in the Riley Smith Hall at Leeds Uni in early October 1982 during my Fresher's week there, memory tells me it was a Tuesday night, the first time I'd come across the girls.

If you refer to the BBC 6music broadcasts from a few years back then yes they do have the usual DAB compression, but they do sound better than my old recordings.
