GW 12 - Deadline Friday 8th November 19.00

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

As Jo is up to her ears in solicitors & trying to sell her house she asked me to get the ball rolling on this GW for her.
Rather than drum up a new summary at short notice, here's a copy of what I posted for last GW

Let’s start with OGS’ trip to the sea side shall we?
Having finally strung 3 wins in a row, Untidy, with Martial back in the fold, looked to be in a good place for a 4th. Josh King had other ideas, puling of an insane piece of skill to grab the winner in the first half.
Arsenal, without Xhaka who threw a wobbly at fans last week, decided to maintain consistency as they gave up yet another lead to secure a solitary point against Wolves & the south coast scum continued their fish & chip stealing antics, taking a 2-0 win at home to Norwich.
At Villa park, Liverpool were stunned by an early Villa goal. Thousands of reds fans who were rejoicing in Citeh having gone behind 7 minutes earlier were suddenly silenced. In the 70th minute, lips started quivering as Citeh drew level with The Saints. Liverpool thought they had pulled one back, but VAR adjudged Firmino's armpit to be offside. The 86th minute came & the Kop faithful were now weeping into their phones as Citeh went ahead, closing the gap to just 3 points.
But wait! A world class cross from Mané a minute later was pounced on by Robbo for a proper equaliser. Could they?….Yes the jolly well could. And a 95th minute corner was deftly glanced past the Villa keeper to keep Citeh at arm’s length 6 points adrift.
Over at Bramall lane, The Blades’ overlapping centre backs continue to confuse tot opposition & Lundstrom continues to shine, netting a brace in Sheffield UTD’s 3-0 demolition of Burnley
Newcastle, 3 up away to Wet Spam almost handed the hosts a lifeline, but time ran out for the Spammers who could only pull 2 back.
Watford, still on the hunt for that elusive win, went behind in just 5 minutes to Chelski. The transfer-banned blues doubled their lead thanks to their new £58m signing Pulisic but the Hornets, aided by Mike Dean who was in the VAR room practising handing out cards & taking selfies were awarded a vey soft penalty. The score could have been a lot worse but for Foster making 8 crucial saves. He even almost headed a last second leveller which means he’s had more shots on target this season than Jesse Lingard.
Sunday came & Palace limited Leicester to just the 2 dammits that moved the Foxes into 3rd place.
Winding it up for the week, Spurs dropped into Goodison Park to take on Everton.
More shocking that they took the lead was the fact Dele Alli actually scored the goal. This was almost undone a few minutes later as he appeared to handle the ball in the Everton box. But VAR decided Alli’s arm was in a completely natural position.
But the game took a very dark turn as Son brought down Gomes who landed awkwardly resulting in a dislocated fracture of the ankle. Son, clearly distraught once he saw Gomes’ foot pointing in the wrong direction (!!Caution. Graphic!!) was handed a red card for endangering an opponent.
After a lengthy stoppage, Cenk Tosun headed a 97th minute equaliser to keep Everton out of the drop zone.

Back in the land of FPL, it was the IGM who took the week with 666 points (exactly the same score as the previous week) as they extend their overall lead. :notworthy:

As many of you know, we are not allowed to have bonfires etc at the shed since the incident with the neighbours’ fence a couple of years back. So fireworks night was a little disappointing to say the least.
But we still had fun… until the police arrived to confiscate our matches.
Ho hum. Onwards to the next GW then which begins Friday with Sunday seeing…gasp…Liverpool play Citeh which will create some mild panic in team selections I’m sure.

Anyway, don't forget the GW starts this evening, so get a wriggle on everyone :)
Cheers.

Please allow us to introduce ourselves .. etc. By the power of the Unholiest Trinity (Best Charlton and Law to you lot), if we score 666 again this week we really are all f**ked.

Good luck!

Cheers for sorting that Steve, and fingers crossed for you Boss. Looking forward to the Entrance To Hades opening up underneath anfield on sunday evening, once the FPL computer has figured out we scored six hundred and sixty-six points again.

Things are just ridiculous here. If I'm not marking or filling out forms for the worst solicitor in the world (not ours) then I'm trying to make sure we eat and have clean pants. Chuck parents' evenings in and a cold that won't go, and slowing down a bit with something has to happen.
However, am going to have a nap watch football on TV tonight. Canaries!

PS if we score 666 again this week, we're doing it RIGHT. We're GOTHS, remember?
Besides, we're pretty well f**ked already, so what will it matter?

Still not sure how I am top of the H2H when I am mid-table overall. Someone up there must like me though, as I took a gamble on bringing in Delofeu this week and making him captain!

Nice foresight :notworthy:

I don't even look at H2H, FPL generally is a random luck & occasionally inspired guesswork kinda pastime, the H2H 'concept' stretches that past the point of pointlessness really.

Not half as much as their defence did. Good game, reminiscent of seasons past when United slugged it out with the main rival of the time, and it was clear from how the game panned out that United weren't quite as good and wouldn't be winning any Premier Leagues that season. Soz city, they're just better than you this year. Yours to eff up, Liverpool. Imagine doing so and Rodger's lot sneak in for another. That would be funny, you've gotta admit ;D

All good though. United even looked like they're playing the same sport as city and Liverpool this weekend, which was nice. That at least took the edge off having a 9 point goalie sat on the bench in the only league that matters.

With Jo, still in the midst of contracty stuff & sans wifi, she has asked if I could summarise for her.
I said no & instead have a long winded word salad for you :innocent:

It was 2 weeks ago, but I think I remember what happened.
Norwich sunk further into trouble as visitors, Watford, manage to secure their first league win of the season condemning the hosts to their 7th winless game in a row.
Along came Saturday & Palace managed to hold Chelski off for a full 52 minutes before succumbing to the first dammit courtesy Tammy Abraham. Pulisic wrapped things up in the 79th minute in a win that takes the blues into 3rd.
Burnley, out of sorts of late, may have turned a corner beating Wet Spam 3-0 & putting Pellegrini under increasing pressure while Newcastle seem to have found a solution to scoring, as their defenders ensured a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth.
Southampton hosted a rather inconsistent Everton team looking to end their poor run of form. But an early goal from Toby Regbo lookalike Tom Davies immediately put them on the back foot. Despite an Ings equaliser, it was Richarlison (who miraculously didn’t pick up a card) who hammered the last nail in to snatch all 3 points.
Spurs, despite going ahead though Son, continue to emulate Arsenal, who also give up leads, The Blades came back. Their first goal however was judged to have come from an offside position (by, rather ironically, a blade of grass ) in the build up by a VAR system that could probably land a satellite on an asteroid with pinpoint accuracy.
All was not lost though as their second counted & doomed the norf Laahneders to another disappointing result. This was also the death knell for Poch it turns out as he was subsequently sacked (as he refused to resign) & replaced with everyone’s favourite public transport expert, sparking a frenzy among hotel mangers in the area.
Arsenal, on the other hand, decided not to simply hand a lead back to Leicester but rather roll over as Vardy became the top scorer in the PL for the season so far.
For Untidy on Sunday, it was the dawn of the Fred as his commanding display enabled the home side to take the south coast scum by 3 goals to 1.
The bragging rights in the Midlands derby went the way of Wolves with Villa sitting just 3 clear of the drop zone.
But fcuk all that lot. There was only one game everyone was talking about the whole weekend.
Yep, Liverpool, seeking to extend their unbeaten run, welcomed the champions, Citeh to Anfield & this time the bus didn’t get bombarded with missiles.
Citeh, with world class keeper Clownio Bravo in for the injured Ederson.
And on 6 minutes, 22 seconds after Alexander-Arnold's clear handball, Fabinho fired the reds into an early lead.
Salad doubled the lead on 13 minutes with Mané adding a third in the second half. Bernardo Silva managed a consolation, & Citeh were aggrieved not to have had a penalty from another handball from guess who?... But that’s Var for you. One minute it can split the atom, then next it’s like the Hubble telescope before it got mended.
Still, at least Pep took it all in good spirits.

Well, look at that. I do remember what happened :)
But all that’s irrelevant when you consider it’s the FPL that’s the only result that matters & for GW12, it was the IGM that did indeed win, but not with 666 for the week, as they improved to notch up 674 points :notworthy:
Schemd’s Clash Athletic keep the

Still early doors though & now we’re back from an international break, it’s time to see what damage has been done to who.
I’ll sign off for now & hope to see some of you at the Stadium of Faith for GW13.
Cheers.

Yes, thank you! it all got silly here as we moved successfully on Tuesday, having not been told this until last Thursday. That was a hectic four days, and wifi has only just been restored in the current abode.

I am livid with Spurs and the appointment of That Man. Our souls have been sold for the idea of winning. When he's gone, let me know.
