Bananacamel, glad you liked it. I seem to remember that you weren't so fond of the last gig, right? Can you give us a lengthy (albeit positive) review again please?

Good gig - better than the Astoria, Von's vocals still lost in the mix although my mate afterwards thinks his voice is well and truly f--ked.
Same set as before Crash and burn blah blah but there was a NEW song this definately didn't sound like a cover, not that I knew of?
Came about a quarter of the way in and sounded similar to the other 'new' stuff too which makes me think its not a cover.
Did anyone down the front get the set list?
Nice to meet you Scardwell and Sarah,
Chazquarrier I had a Rosetta 92 shirt on, can't have been many Rosetta shirts last night.
must get back to work now.

"as we walk on the floodland"
I have to admit that only a couple of days ago I thought the band would not live past june, but this is really really good news, the best in years! (funny how un-exciting news this would be if it came from any other band than this one)
I'm still cautious though, hoping it won't be a cover and hoping it's not a track Pearson has been involved in.

I asked Chris in Cologne if they were working on new songs. Ever since he joined the band they were, so he said. A couple of songs even.euphoria wrote:

I'm not cautious but excited!!!! This is a new song. No cover, no Pearson. So curious about the name, sound lyrics....

Just to update. I don't know what the new song was. Who grabbed the setlist? Set was the same as London, Leeds and Norwich (and Manchester I guess, wasn't there) apart from the new song.

Any recordings yet? I want to hear Still!
Heard the new song, sort of sounds like the other "new" songs.
The quicker they have more new stuff to replace some of the dull mid tempo s**t that Pearson wrote on auto pilot - the better.
I'm afraid that the stupid smoke thing, the same set list & the ridiculous ticket prices are getting a bit long in the tooth now. I'm not saying that it was s**t but there was nothing about the gig that will stay in my memory for more than a couple of days. When you're listening to a slow song that goes nowhere & you have nothing to look at you soon get a bit bored.
Other than that, Eldritch's football shirt & sideways moves made him look like Bez in slow motion.
As for the Ivories. They were ok for a support band. Nothing vaguely original but they could sell Siouxsie to the goffs & Elastica to the indie kids.

I kinda agreed with you last night Biggy, my good wife gave it a miss last night and I nearly didn't show. Although I really enjoyed it, it's starting to get very long in the tooth with the same setlists. As a good friend said to me last night, 'where was any of the FALAA material eh?' An abbreviated
SkoS or FALAA a la Dr Jeep/Det Blvd segue would spice things up. It's always the oldies - Alice, Anaconda, Dominion, Corrosion and Temple that get those toes tapping and arms waving. It wouldn't hurt to do a different segue.
Incidentally the rather trimmed / edited Lucretia really gets my goat, just as the song and crowd get going Von ends with 'dance the ghost with me'.
However we did get 'Still' and as Scardwell says, 'it rocked' a la Summer and Crash and Burn.
Wonder if the other new song will get an airing soon?

I noticed quite a few people leaving early, and heard several complaints about the smoke, but have to say I thought it was a good night.
Smoke and Lights is the Sisters. Surely you know that before you go, and you get 'exactly what it says on the tin'.
I agree they could do with dropping in some different songs occassionally, even if that means leaving out some of the crowd pleasers. I would personally love Body Electric or Heartland.
