SISTERS SONGS COVERED.

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

No one have mentioned Crematory yet :P They really slaughter Temple Of Love. Music is quite ok, but the vocals sucks big time.

Remember there was a Belgian sisters cover band called The Mistress Of Jersey that really kicked ass, to bad I lost all of their songs about 12 years ago when the current computer died

If anyone have still have any tunes with them I would love to hear them again :)

You know what's sad? I Have on my iPhone the following albums:

Thank You! A Tribute to the Sisters
Monochrome - A Sisters Tribute
First and Last and Forever
A Mercyful Tribute to the sisters
The Violent Hour

There's so few realy good cover, but so few, that if i put only the good covers in a single album it would fit in a EP.

Btw, did anyone ever head the 'Polish tribute to the sisters of mercy'? i've always want to hear it, but i just can't find a place to buy it.

Can't help you with that, but I do remember them from flyers back in the day... Were they from Ghent?

:notworthy: As far as I'm concerned, the Nun are never off topic. Did their own thing whilst simultaneously showcasing some seriously cool influences, great vocal stylings, groovy guitars, effortlessly iconic ... a bit like a certain other band.

The name of the band is "Temple of Mercy" - probably not the brightest idea for a name but the show itself was pretty cool. It took place within a harbour fest in Elmshorn/near Hamburg.
They are actually quite OK. :D

Good find ! Call me a heretic, but am loving all the club remixes available at present:

Alice : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keFHCGrmyEk
Marian : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0zJ8P5E ... er&list=UL
Flood II : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTYhl04f ... er&list=UL

and of course there's always a bit of classic cowbell mashup...

Dammit, I thought that was a Nouvelle Vague song and Eldritch had been seduced into covering the bosa nova classic in the recent shows. I really must brush up on my back catalogue :-)

I agree with Ozpat. Best Sisters cover by a long way and I suspect one of the few that Eldritch himself might actually like.
According to this old Brazilian interview http://www.territoriodamusica.com/rocko ... tas/?c=773 you're in good company, as Chris Catalyst has said much the same. A bit surprised at :von: going for Paradise Lost's rather pedestrian "Walk Away" though

Interesting cover of Alice here. Bungled up the words a bit though.

Nouvelle Vague's Marian is the only one I've heard that is good. It's different, rather laidback Sunday cafe sort of mood - great. Brothers Of Mercy's Alice and Temple on the other hand is very poor and I like techno! Got that one on vinyl I'm hoping it gains some rarety value some day

I'm thinking of doing my own cover / remix of Alice but swapping every instance of "Alice" with "Alan".

Alan, don't give it away!!!!

Well it made me laugh anyway.

Final notice : as this keeps creeping back into this - and other - TSOM cover threads, please do yourselves a favour and listen to the final mix in decent quality, rattling bass and all, while gazing upon appropriately crafted sunset yellow artwank instead of hearing an outdated demo version underscoring an equally outdated cover of the 'Eden' single.

It's out there. It's finished. It is what it is and I shall speak of it no more. Listen to it, or don't...

A new version of VT by the legendary and genre-defying (although I'm sure that some of the more predictable HLers will come up with an epithet for them) Dyslexic Fudgicle who have kindly uploaded it on Soundcloud http://soundcloud.com/dyslexic-fudgicle/vision-thing or you can try before you download on YT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yH4LJb0PWNc
