I've been to the previous two Powerstation gigs, I hope this will be no exception

I wonder what attendance will be like considering that you won't have the people coming up from Wellington (or probably the South Island)

There is increasing evidence to suggest that Chris may have been being sarcastic.

Honestly believe that was the best I've ever seen them. Von's voice was really strong and up in the mix. The whole band was clearly having a great time - I don't think Von talked to the audience at all when I saw them in 2012. Dylan was climbing onto the monitors / edge of stage to do rock star poses - I yelled at him to stage dive, to no avail. Ben took his shades off for the encore and gave the audience the most disturbing stare/grin. They ended with a ridiculous hanging bow as the lights flashed off Von's shiny bald head.

Elko Fields were great, too. A gender-swapped White Stripes, only better than that sounds.

I hope the lads still have something in the tank for their inaugural Wellington gig! I have now heard "Giving Ground" live and can die happy.

This is about ( X4 times ) the average talk :von: do usually in concerts!
Consider yourself lucky and blessed to witness it ;D :bat:
Thank you for the nice review and the details about the :von: lines :notworthy:
That's almost like reviewing a video ! Is there any video?

Must have been absolutely amazing. :D I‘m grinning from just reading your account.
Sounds like the old Von from 38 years ago.
Glad you had so much fun.
Astonishing that you can quote all the one-liners. Have you actually recorded the whole concert?

So to all you other guys and girls from Down Under: Have a blasting couple of nights out there. And let us other folks know what it was like. So we can at least dream.

I don't do videos or photos at concerts because it takes me out of the moment, but plenty of other people were filming, I'll link videos if I see them crop up. It didn't take any more effort to type Von's one-liners into my phone than it did to type the song titles!

Few further observations:
- Interesting that they pretty much did all of Vision Thing except the title track.
- Venue about 3/4 full, about the same as last time, which was better than I expected considering there's a Wellington gig as well this year.
- I might have been the only person in the venue who knew the new songs and could sing along, but the crowd was appreciative and rocking nonetheless. But of course the crowd went absolutely nutzo-gonzo for the encore.

A character on the Facebook group seems to have recorded virtually the entire gig, I don't know how to link FB vids tho (and can't be bothered finding out)
