Driven Like The Snow

Got any interesting thoughts on a set of lyrics? Any that don't involve the word "indeed"? Find yourself struggling to decipher all those obtuse references Von makes? Read "1959 And All That" and still no clearer? Nope, us neither. Postcards found lying in a skip around the back of the Chemists can be found here... Don't say you weren't warned.

Ok, i'm not sure if this should go on the lyrics folder but...

Is it just me or listening to Driven Like The Snow is a sexual experience on it's own?
I've been listening to it nonstop all night and it makes me wanna go ahn... ahn... ahn...
What does it for me is the bass, the beat, the singing, the lyrics, the everything... ummmmmm

I love this song

As usual i think Eldritch is talking about his fave drug meth, this song could be a combination between drugs and love. who knows.

In that case, maybe a better name would be 'Driven by the snow' ??

No, no no no!

It's about that 5th dimension like series or film where a man is driving its car and meanwhile everyone is dead but him. All the assumptions you may infer from that beggining are your responsibility!

Actually i've always liked that. What if you were the last person on earth. Frightening but at the same time exciting.
But i still think of sex when i hear it. But now it has to be lonely sex, since noone else is around
Well, there's always those inflatable things... ahem... or so i heard :von:

Specifically, DLTS is part 2 of NWN because (tries to remember old interview), they're about Eldo's 2 love affairs, both of which crashed and burnt (apparently), NWN being written about the first, DLTS about the second.

At least, that's what I read.....

claire (as in "eldritch moved to leeds with his girlfriend claire, and spiggy the cat") was at the lorries gig in leeds a few weeks ago...

DLTS doesn't come across as a love song though does it?

I thought more like Quiff's idea

reinforced by

... White curtain come down,

And given
Away to the west
A white dress.......

etc

seems to me to be an impersonal song delivered in a personal way

What's this Claire look like then? She's a minor legend in Sisters history.

She's not, dare I say, "g***" is she?

Y'all are getting a bit presumptuous...

Don't believe there is anything to say that this gal was THE gal...

I'd suggest she wouldn't be named if she was.

But by all accounts he loved the cat though.

i was reliably informed by someone who was close to the band during the early days that it was THE claire.

nah, she wasnt goth. not at all... she had a very "rock n roll" look about her though - like the sex and drugs part of it all had been indulged in to the max  :*

I wasn't doubting that this girl was the Claire of 'and the cat' fame.

Just that it doesn't mean it was she that the songs are about, necessarily...
