ok, maybe some of our american cousins (coz they all are, arn't they (i've seen jerry springer!!!) ) could help with this one.
american football, what's it all about, i mean, football?¿? you play with your hands for a start!!!
ok, anyway, in the early eighties andy was a little more in love with the usa then he pretends to be today, and i can & will prove it beyond reasonable doubt (which is almost like no doubt only half as sexy ;))
exibit a)
Wide Receiver (early demo)
[wide receiver?¿? you don't get those in proper football, only american football, yes?¿?]
You say
Where is my believer
Waiting for the sign
[some sign like 'hut hut hut 25 25 000 hut' perhaps?¿?]
Those feet off the ground
[jumping for the, the, ball (even if it isn't round)]
...
... the skies go wild
[fireworks, used at every american & canadian outdoor & indoor sporting event i've ever witnessed (for amusement no less!!!)]
Tattered and torn your feet never bleed
[ill fitting shoes i believe, or perhaps someone that does a lot of running in the aforementioned ill fitting shoes]
You say never mattered ...
... is over and the hour is ...
[american football games take an hour?¿?]
And where's your wide receiver
[ha ha!! there you have it, the QB looking for the wide receiver no less]
Over the line
[out of play, stop the clock, next down]
Where's your wide receiver
[ha ha!! there you have it, the QB looking for the wide receiver no less]
Over the border
[do they american football in mexico or canada?¿?]
Where's your wide receiver
[as before]
Over the line
[as before]
Where's your wide receiver
[as before, a bit blind this QB perhaps?¿?]
Over the edge and
Too far forward
[the crappy wide receiver made an illegal play again, next down]
Where's your wide receiver
Over the line
[out of bounds again, lets hope the draft brings you better luck next year]
[Repeat to fade]
so, there you have it, andrew 'the von' E in american football shocker!!!!!

someone with as much time on their hands as me!!! LOL!
nice - some good observations!
actually, some of those lyrics remind me a bit of "bury me deep". anyone done a compare and contrast for style/context/imagery etc?
What’s the difference between a buffalo and a bison?
An hour!!!! an hour!! they're there all fecking day. The crowd take BBQ's and the like. They keep having breaks in between extremely short burst of running about. I mean fer cring out loud they measure plays in yards and inches. If they get it 10 yards thats quite good (first and ten....oh my god what AM I babbling on about??)On 2002-03-14 13:09, nearmethexperience wrote:

I have been told that Wide Reciever is a fake demo, and by people entirely other than the Sisters. I have no evidence for this however, apart from the fact that the rest of the "Shadows of Angels" bootlegg is well shady too. Dunno really...Doesn't sound much like them to me.
