Sorry to do this to you Andrew

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Big feature on loudersound.com on Flesh For Lulu, with some bloke called Rocco recounting the time he battered Von at fencing:

The Sisters Of Mercy frontman and fencing-enthusiast Andrew Eldritch challenged Rocco to a very public duel outside in the university campus in Glasgow and Rocco totally whipped him.

“I went to one of the worst schools in London, he says, “but they had this scheme for under-privileged kids and, you know, the fat kid and big nose are the last ones to be picked for the football team, so…

So he took up fencing and made it as far as the Junior Olympic squad.

Eldritch was in his full gear, Rocco in a pair of leather trousers, some stuff borrowed from the sport department and holding a walking stick: “I’d jumped off a flight of stairs, off my head, y’know, he says. “I didn’t break my ankle but I couldn’t walk for two months.

It didn’t hinder his fencing.

“I f**king thrashed him, he says. “I killed him. He didn't have a chance.

I recall a story in Classic Rock by one chap, whose band opened to the Sisters back in the day. They had issues that culminated to him challenging Von to a duel. They were both practicing fencers at the time and the chappy beat Von.

Then again, who's going to tell you a story about Von going Zorro on them?

Same story, I think. :)
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
