ATTENTION! FANTASY WORLD CUP!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

FIFA have finally got their act together and set it up

you will need to set up your team before joining the league. not all the squads have been announced yet as the deadline isn't until 4th june, so do an auto fill and go back later to tweak. Once you have your team, message me and I'll give you the code

Looks like the site is having a bit of a hissy fit right now.
It won't let me choose from any player outside of one group & when I do auto pick a team & go through all the hoops i get a "something's gone wrong" message.
I'll try it again later today.
Cheers.

Looks as if the site is starting to settle down as the last squads are announced.

I reckon I've stuffed this up. I rushed in and picked a team not understanding how it would work !

Do you think that subs don't automatically happen like they do in PL Fantasy Football?

And will there be opportunities to transfer in players from teams still in the tournament as the knockout rounds progress, or will it just be one transfer per 'round' of games?

Darn it, if I'd realised I would have picked players from the 'better' teams who are more likely to progress

You can make manual substitutions before each game within a round. That's to say, if You have a Spain player on today who scores no points (or a piddly total) & you have a French player on the bench, you can (before the first game tomorrow) swap them over. You will lose the points for the Spanish guy, but if that was zero or 1, it may be worth the gamble.
As for transfers, it's 1 per round in the group stages. Come last 16 time you can change your whole team, but then it's 3 for 1/4 finals, 5 for semis & 5 for the final. This is made slightly easier as.....
You can select up to three players from a single team during the group stage. This will increase to four players for the Round of 16, followed by five for the quarter-finals, six for the semi-finals and eight for the final of the World Cup.
:)
Cheers.

Yes I could definitely have done that - had a few points sitting wasted on the bench. If I'd known. Pooh.

I only twigged mid round
So I put Carlos Sanchez on for yesterday's game in place of Bobby Firmino who only got me 1 point.
& then Sanchez was sent off in the 3rd minute

D'oh!
Cheers.

I thought it would be like the PL one where the subs come on after the games are all done... so I waited, then nothing happened.
