if anyone more familiar with mediawiki than me (which isn't hard, to be fair) can find a similar plugin i'd happily take a look :)

Given all her efforts maintaining the wiki some sort of reaction would be nice to move towards a solutution here. I'm not familiar with wiki stuff but maybe it's possible to disable the wiki edit rights for guests and/or deactive user registration as a temparary solution :?:

I'm very glad and proud that Lucien has given me administrator rights for the Wiki ... ;D ;D ;D ...

Now I can block spammers and delete their pages ... :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: :lol: ...

But I cannot add extensions or do anything about basic settings.
In fact, during Christmas time, temporarily disabling account creation seems to be to best solution.

Anyway, there have been hardly any new users logging onto the Wiki,
who honestly intended to contribute something to the Wiki (apart from Vince and Andy TG, I guess) ... :wink: ...

(i've just added a prompt in there to use capital letters btw)...

tbh that's pretty why i have been putting it off. as soon as you start asking for specific answers where the user can enter freeform text you're going to f**k people off because they'll use the wrong capitalisations, make typos etc etc

for example, look at the most obvious Sisters questions in the world:

What is Andrew Eldritch's surname?

now I mean Eldritch. but someone else might type eldritch with a small e. someone else might spell it eldrich with no T, or even Eldridge. and the smart arses amongst you might even write Taylor (or taylor). the super-smart arses might start including his middle name too :roll:

so many variations of even the simplest questions. it's a mine field.
