THE SISTERS OF MERCY

Where to begin? When a band includes history, the 29 years that is not a simple matter. Perhaps we should be confined to the essentials. In 1980 the band was formed by Andrew Eldritch and Gary Marx. The cast around it was often changed, so that today only Eldritch is the starting lineup of the party. 2006 was the year of the tour Sisters. 28 countries in 365 days. In 2007, the last year was in the Sisters of Mercy CD technically have something of himself to listen, even if "only" with a CD box republished with the old albums. The last record was in 1993 on the market, since an increasing number of rumors about a new album. And it may still not be confirmed ... Nevertheless, despite their appearances are legendary, and you should not miss it!

aye :D

i've been given no indication so far if that's all they're doing or if it's a handful of festival shows over the summer, or that this might be part of a larger european tour, or whatever... all i have is confirmation of this one date.

in short, keep your eyes peeled :D

more news as & when... ;)

Oh well, here we go again... 8)

I reckon it will be just a few festivals this time. 2011 will see a big (anniversary) tour again, I think.

:D ... I know. I'm joking ... :D

... though, I've never been there when The Sisters didn't play ...
and - ruined as I am - in 2007 and 2008, I couldn't even get to the festivals where they played ... :(

ah, past. :D I'm still quite ruined, but I know I will have the money soon enough. It's only 74 €, after all, and some more for food and drink. :D

I failed dramatically when I went to Hildesheim in 2005 and didn't see them Schwesters, so this'll be the opportunity to make up for that... if I can get a pass out ;D

This will be a lot different than spending a relaxing afternoon eating and drinking and then entering the venue without queue minutes before the gig to find plenty of room in the front row with no barrier between us and the band though. M'Era Luna means standing for many hours either in very hot sun or very heavy rain in a huge crowd of people and fighting your way to the front slowly step by step while you have to endure the shows of many very dreadful bands before the time comes. You realise this, don't you. :D

Come on!!!
We all know that Meraluna is GOTHIC festival. One of the most important festivals in Germany. I don´t really like gothic festivals but I´ve seen many good bands there: New Model Army, Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, Jesus and Mary Chains, Bauhaus, and this year Fields of The Nephilim best show I´ve ever seen....
It may rain (like always) or it may be hot. No matter the weather if the Sisters plays there.
You don´t need to see the bands which play at 11.00 in the morning :-)
Just drink a good BECK beer and eat a big Sausage!!!

Hey, don't get me wrong: Eggi and I will definitely be there! :D I just doubt that I'll spend hours in the front row during crap shows just to have my spot when The Sisters finally turn up. South America has taught me that the experience is different but as good from the back.

And I love gothic festivals. There's so much to see.... 8)

Like a very wise women once said - "I will survive".
Unfortunately my arrival does not depend on enduring, but on something completely different.
Anyway, I am sure that we will find something interesting and relaxing. Weather is not an issue, but a good wurst is !! Naturally, you bring the beer, I will take care of the food.
