I emailed Larry Alexander about recording details of
'Floodland', and this is what he wrote to me on
11 September:

Hi,

It was a long time ago, but here's what I remember about
recording The Sisters of Mercy Floodland album.

I engineered the two Jim Steinman tracks at the Power Station
in New York, ended up as co-producer on Dominion/Mother Russia.
I was then invited to go to England and co-produce the rest of the
album. I think the first studio was called Strawberry Studios in
Manchester. We worked there for a while, then moved over to Bath
to a studio called The Wool Hall. Next was Air Studios in London
where we finished up.

Larry

Yet another take on that saga. And presumably the least biased.

I enjoyed that line about Pat too, and also the image of a perfectionist Our fearless leader! having a pile of unlabelled master tapes which chimes with TJ's comments about the later VT sessions, with the dozens of near-identical takes which only Our fearless leader! could distinguish. Thanks for posting the link.
