Gah, I should have gone, I knew I should have gone! What were the odds of the Sissies playing a half decent gig though? In 2011?

I think that statement is very much open to personal opinion.....and IMO, that is exactly what the Sisters have been, for two and a half decades now.
Give me one good reason

If you watch them with that opinion then you're missing out, imho.

A singer with a backing band would play so that the vocals are right at the front of the mix with the music underpinning them and the songs would be mostly singing.

That is not how The Sisters play. There is some amazing guitar work going on, just embrace it

much as i like B&C i wouldn't use the word "amazing" to describe their guitarwork with the sisters (no clue about their other projects though).

and that's coming from someone who really enjoyed the shows of the last few years.

I agree. Chris' guitar work is powerful and in this also creative, it really
rocks ... as we can all gather from Arms, for example. His bass playing
(I think it is him, I could be wrong) is also good, for there is actually a
bass, but one can feel it is not yet the utmost a bass with The Sisters
could be. Still, it does make a large difference to having no bass at all.

And Ben has by now really got further than only making himself familiar
with musical and technical patterns and definitely made his way with and
into the instrument. Now he really got to playing it.

I think, they both are clearly professional in what they are doing there.
And that is where it should be ... ;D :notworthy:

Generally the playing is restrained but Ben really plays on some songs and Chris' playing on Rain From Heaven is excellent.

Well, you have to do something on the plane back to Hong Kong, right?

Belatedly, here is a view of Train / Detonation Boulevard.

i was a long way back, and plenty of heads got in the way, but that helped the sound I feel, so I'll put it out there for fun and profit...
