AE

Celebrities like to promote themselves through social media. Strange that AE has been around all these yrs, but we really know very little about him? I think on his part is a very clever move because being a mystery makes fans more curious about him? I personally think deep down he's a very sensitive person and that's why he hides behind those shades. If you don't promote yourself out there in cyber space then one can't get hurt! Can't blame him really. I just hope he's not a recluse at Christmas time with his pussies?!! :von:

I met him briefly once and he seemed quite nice and gave me his autograph. :von:

eldritch has a charismatic and compelling personality. onstage (or in the olden days on record) where it's all in his control, that personality can be flexed without prejudice. imagine how much fun his life wouldn't be, being 5'7 (max), blind as a bat, sensitive and reserved, whilst not suffering fools gladly and generally preferring felines to people, if he didnt maintain that seperation?

I don't know that he much cares for the idea of being a celebrity- I get the distinct impression it's not his thing, so he cashed in his proverbial chips and walked away from all that. He could have kept The Sisters a going concern at a reasonably high profile, had he wanted to, I think, but felt it wasn't worth the hassle. And while I'd love to hear a new record as much as anyone- even were it just recordings of things they've been playing live for twenty years now in some cases- I don't blame him one bit for essentially leaving the music business.

Will this be :von: farewell tour too? A recent facebook interview with that guitarist suggests that this could be his farewell tour this year? :( I personally think it's a ploy for fans to buy tickets and for a sell out tour? I think he likes the limelight and celebrity status too much to retire?! Where :von: is introvert that guitarist is an extrovert

I don't think this is a farewell. Last year, around the time of the November tour, :von: gave an interview and talked about still touring in 20 years.

I'm not familiar to interview, to which you're reffering to, but i guess it's matter of perspective for whom upcoming tour could be farewell tour.

That guitarist - Big Mouth Strikes Again.
He has lost credibility long time ago, he's talking way too much.

I find it odd how honesty can be viewed as talking too much, yeah it's not stereotypically 'English', but La Huss is opening up and being quite candid about the future for both The Mish and himself. It's a contrast, I know, but "each to his own". I don't see it as a Mish farewell, but another one of the many breaks they have taken. As for a Sisters farewell, I don't think that the band themselves have even hinted at it, so I can't see that either. OK, their appeal grows ever more selective as the years pass, but an audience remains for the almost annual jaunts through the UK and mainland. Would Von turn off that income stream now?

His honesty is only at the time when he speaking, at least that's how i see it. It's his opions and thoughts, and obvously he's entitled to have it, but i got feeling that he's not thinking it through befer he's saying it.
As for AE ... i'm not comparing both of them.

Yeah, Huss can often speak before he thinks, I take your point.

I think that the answers are one or more or all of ...
a) Eldritch doesn't think of himself as a "celebrity".
b) Eldritch doesn't see the need to "promote himself".
c) Eldritch has better things to do than social media.

At least it's not American Dad, that's Shi'ite.

THAT interview with THAT guitarist.

If Huss doesn't sound that bothered, and wants to make records that sound like a pair of old f**king slippers instead of make a record that sounds awesome, that's his perogative. AFFG is the biggest pile of s**t I have heard for years. There's no point making a record and being ambivalent about it : don't waste my time. Go Big, and aim high - or go home. He sounds thoroughly unhappy, and well, he can always work in an office and wear a suit if he prefers that option.

Oh, The Mish closed their forum. Wonder why?

AE doesn't need to do social media. AE is very much in receive mode on the Internet, not broadcast, and is clearly well read and aware of here and elsewhere. Once you go into the swamp of engaging with the Scum Public, its difficult to get out of it.

The Sisters are a company, I like their product, and if their Chief Exec doesn't want to engage in 'Banter' on Twitter, then I'm happy with that, as long as he remembers the feed the cats. :von:

Why on earth AE would need to "promote" himself or band on the web more than he did? TSOM gigs are selling well, he got nothing new to promote, except gig. HL, Tw@er, official site are enough tool to promote.
THAT guitarist record some albums, publish, therefore he has different needs, reasons and different obliogations to do so.

I like that ongiong comparsion. Even when WH starting.

Fazackerly, there is little or no promotion because there is little or nothing to sell. The official site manages to grind its rusty gears to update the gig list and little else.

There is also a bit of a difference between the old MWIS forum and this place too. MWIS closed their forum element years ago, if memory serves, due to outbreaks of flame wars. As it was not exactly independent, being funded by the band rather than being beautifully fan-managed like HL, I suspect a heavier moderating hand was required and patience/funding snapped at the silly squabbling. No doubt some of the old uns who, like me, inhabited both spaces can comment further.

Love n peace from someone who will be seen, in shocking shirts, at both the Sisters and Mish gigs in coming months.

Sorry but Another Fall From Grace is brilliant. Sisters can't do anything as technical as that anymore. It's all cock rock, verging on thrash. They've killed the layers and texture for power chords.. Horrible

The company is good though

Nowt wrong with a bit of thrash (between consenting adults of course).
