Currently wondering...

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

not hanging around these parts! drink more, pass-out & proceed to do sensible things only on sunday! hee.
We're going round to see some friends tomorrow night, and based on previous experiences this means that Sunday is a write-off.
well that leaves artwork for tomorrow afternoon if you are not hungover from tonight. if you drink enough. i hate early morning wake-ups on a saturday, but you are not me. just put the artwork away until you feel the need to do it. lol ~ i've been knitting (don't fuckinglaugh) as a creative outlet at this point. weekends should involve relaxation & drinking until early hours. so don't worry if the art is set on hold for a few days. it's not worth the stress.

I work all weekend, every weekend. All work and no play make Sinnie a very dull girl, indeed. :(

"just put the artwork away until you feel the need to do it." - I can lose months doing that. And it makes me feel frustrated. I need to force myself to create.

I wish I were still artistically inclined. And motivated. Alas.

I've had jobs like that. Best to get out of them (if possible - very difficult to pick & choose in the current economic climate, though, admittedly)

I've found that it's a matter of forcing yourself like a slave driver. Artistic inspiration/motivation doesn't call at your door, it needs to be dragged kicking and screaming and nailed to a board. Then tortured with hot glue guns and nails.

As I accelerate into the complacency of middle age I find that the things I care enough to fight for seem more worthwhile. And winning those battles against my own inertia are more glorious and more grinning-face-of-victory-erupting-from-the-shattered-and-bloody-corpses-of-your-enemies than when I was young and the world was easy (bonus points for anyone who can find a more succinct predicative adjective that conveys exactly that feeling).

Not nearly violent enough. I need an adjective that bleeds snarling defiance and victory.

Well, two CW's actually

1) has no-one been and wondered since August?

2) how is it that Gaz and myself managed to skilfully avoid our respective parents ever meeting each other in the 24 odd years we've been together. Yet Number One Son manages to make us meet his prospective 'inlaws' in less than 2 years of being with his fiancée

Ach, the kids of today.

Did Gaz's Parents not try to hard to meet you in 24 years because Gaz hadn't told them about you or because he had told them about you??

And I can read that in another way... I have NO IDEA how we've been together for as long as we have - it may be longer than 24 years, I've never remembered when we got together (perhaps I've blocked it from my mind )

Debaser, apologies for my mis-reading of the situation.

It seems quite a good idea - I wish I had thought of it 26 years ago.
