Favourite opening line to a song

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Saw the Beeb doing this on twitter & though it might make for a good thread.
What is your favourite opening lyric to a song?

I immediately thought of Valentine's
"The razor bites & the shriek subsides"

But it was a close call with "It doesn't matter if we all die" from One Hundred Years
Cheers.

Nice topic! I would be split between "So messed up, I want you here" and "And yes I believe in what we had."

"I don't believe in an interventionist god.."

Although "It doesn't matter if we all die" cf Pista is a mighty close second.

"You Suffer, but Why?"

(ok, TECHNICALLY speaking that is the whole song lyric, but it also makes it the opening line to the song...)

Hands up, who wants to die?!?

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.

"Ass ass ass ass ass
