Secret Sisters gig in leeds, this Tuesday

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Just trying to post things with an appropriate subject, as per the forum rules. That way peope who might give a crap can find the information.

If you have nothing worthwhile to contribute to a discussion why dont you just keep your mouth shut?

If you survive long enough you will no doubt find that maturity teaches one that cocky little one liners like that will get you a good kicking before long.

Smartass little s**t. Honestly, you try and do someone a favour...

I didn't mean to offend, sorry.

I guess I'm just annoyed that the air of mystique has, shall we say, "crash landed". I'll keep my inner gothic-romantic to my self in future.

Apologies again.

I wanted to post something along the lines of: "thanks Cimmerian for rubbing it under my nose even more."

But now, I don't dare anymore.

I'm a bastard but I can't go either :(

Being teetotal doesn't naturally improve your ability to hoodwink doormen into thinking you're 18+, for some reason ;)

Ah bollox, now we're gonna have to make sure we're there even earlier than originally planned.

No worries, it's only down the road. :innocent: :notworthy:  :von:

Typical. Flying to Amsterdam on Tuesday so can't do this Leeds thing and can't afford to stay on for Tilburg. Balls.

How early? And how will you ensure a chance of getting in once you get there early? I've only been there once and the concert room is a seperate room from the bar and everyone was in the bar until the gig started and then all piled in just before the gig started.

When they last played Jospeh's Well a queue began to form outside well before lunchtime, and sometime during the afternoon some tickets (100?) were handed out by one of the Sisters personel IIRC.
How early? I guess that depends on how desperate you are to see the gig.

I guess I'll probably see you there sometime before lunchtime.

um, bollocks. :!:

there were four of us in the pub from about half one or two pm when we arrived up from london, and no one else really showed up for another two or three hours.... we spent a good part of the afternoon in an almost empty pub playing a few rounds of pool and having a quiet drink.

there was definitely no queue outside before lunchtime. they;d just stopped serving sandwiches and jacket potatoes to the lunchtime business crowd when we showed up.

Quoting the Sisters tours site: "...The gig was announced via Internet the day before, so folks started gathering early in the morning..."

But thanks for putting me straight Marge.

You can have it now:

Having been drinking since 2pm, by the time the band came on, we couldn't give a sh!t whether we could see or hear them anyway.
And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.

Myself and my partner in crime for this jaunt to the fair city of Leeds have re-arranged our travel plans and should be in Leeds by 1030. So, at JW at opening time and first in the queue. 8)

Not that the fact that the gig was posted on the site made her panic or anything, so travelling is now taking place at a time when most people are still in their beds ... :urff:

yowza! thats early.

in which case, "the angel" in the center of town has a cheaper bar than JW, which if you're going to be around for a few hours might save you a few quid  go to the upstairs bar though. the downstairs one is full of dossers and old boys drinking mild ;D

I can't wait to see the state you'll be in when I turn up stone cold sober circa 6pm. You're never gonna remember to leave the toilet window open.
