Stand corrected. Never trust the first 5 hits on google.
It's really small then. Cosy.
It is quite cosy yeah, basically just a rectangular room. But compared to the o2 & Leeds Uni (both approx 2000 capacity) yeah, smallish. Prob similar size to the Leamington Spa gig. Having said that, there could well have been closer to 1400 at the '91 gig, before all this Health & Safety stuff was introduced.

It's really not what it was, those days are long gone unfortunately. Sisters gigs in Leeds used to have a certain something about them, but now it's just another date on the calendar, could be anywhere really.

That was certainly my impression in 2009, quite disappointing. I'd have loved to visit a gig like York 2001 or Leeds 2005, but these look very much like standard concerts. But who knows?

apparently ticketmaster are sh*t (who knew!) so the recommended places to get tickets from are:

http://crashrecords.co.uk/

and

http://www.lunatickets.co.uk/

neither website has tickets listed just yet, but it shouldn't be long.

however, if you really can't wait, give crash a ring and order over the phone - 0113 243 6743 8)

Agreed. Cannot compare with the old days. Sisters in Leeds will/might be the first time. So there will/might be a certain Leeds feeling.

is it me or has the ticketmaster site gone bonkers?

i'm fairly certain the link TheBoyNextDoor posted didn't say "We’re sorry, but we couldn’t find any events for 'Sisters of Mercy'. Please check your spelling and try again" when i checked this morning.

It didn't. But now they are gone. They are available elsewhere though, seetickets.com, aloud.com etc.

Did anyone manage to order tickets from Ticketmaster?

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

i gather ticketmaster and the gig's promoters were in disagreement about certain aspects of ticketmaster's service. namely them being robbing f**kwits who couldn't sell tickets to a pi$$up in a brewery

hence the recommendations to use crash or lunatickets ;)

This is likely to become sold out, isn't it, so it would seem wise to buy tickets soonish. :?
And s**t, with my current lousy situation at work (huge changes, probably I'm going to have to look for a new job etc.) I don't know anything at the moment - what time I can book my holidays, what plans to make etc.
It would be much easier if there was a complete itinerary at the official Sisters site - then I could think it over and figure out a way to make as much as possible and do a convenient itinerary for myself, one that I could present to my current and future employers.

I felt that way, too -- since I was a young teenager. In 2003 I went over for both dates and I have to say it lived up to my expectations. For a lot of people, Leeds could indeed be "anywhere else," but if you've always wanted to do it, then do it. I may go over again this time...

I have it on some authority that these will probably be the only UK dates of the tour.

just got a couple of tickets for each night (breadknife doesn't know yet).

My only hope is that it will be as good, if not better, than Leamington and not like the last couple of Leeds outings
