Unknown songs and demos, who wrote what, who sang what, the usual biographies, discography gubbins, photos of Eldritch with no sunglasses, etc, etc, etc, yadda, yadda, yadda....

I'm sure that, if pressed, there would be a lot of Sisters songs Von would deny all knowledge of.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Listened to it this morning, it is definitely :von: singing.

No question!

i though it sounded like von, and i've listened hard enough & often enough ;)

it's cack, but it's him. :urff:

and driver is him too. i'm sure.

that recent gary marx interview he talked about the track "heartland" being his own tune with a few of his words, which von modified... so maybe "driver" is all marx's original words, with von's tune? or smoething?

wide receiver

it's official. it is a very definitely a "real" sisters track.

real in that it was penned and recorded by the man himself, anyway.

not long after they'd got back from the states, circa 84, the band had begun writing material for FALAA.

the story goes that von was really into american football after the trip and he turned up at rehearsal one day with a cassette tape, saying he had this fantastic track he wanted to work on.

it was wide receiver.

sounding like a plodding dirge with a fairground-style guitar line (my description), the only lyric von had come up with at that point was something about a "wide receiever" (american footy reference) and then some dodgy sixth form rhyme about "... deceive her"

groovy :urff:

ahhh, dear old von and his "baby pictures", eh? ;)

See, I said it was about American football! Or did I say it was about baseball? I get my English sports confused...

Sounds like you're quoting something there. What's the source?

I happen to also be a fan of the works of Groucho Marx. Double Marxist?

completely unrelated, but I'm sure 'wide receiver' or 'wide receivers' was a credit at the end of the wake video.

"wide receivers- boyd steamison (for merciful release) : the ashfield mofos"

basically, the band's personal security.
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
