Mick Harvey leaves the Bad Seeds

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Never the same once Blixa left IMO.

January is proving to be rather a crap month.
One can only hope the rest of the year brings better news.

Yup. Dig Lazarus Dig!!!was pretty good though, but even that had some filler. A lot of people loved Abbatoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus, but it didn't do anything for me.

Blixa's my guitar hero :) The man is a genius.

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.

Always preferred the Birthday Party to the Bad Seeds, but all the same, sad to see one of the great original partnerships dissolve. Even though I did get the sense that Mick was being increasingly sidelined for the last good while.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

That man is a lot of things   ;D

I still think their recent stuff stands up to scrutiny though. Listened to Dig Lazarus Dig right the way through on my way back up on the train from London, which is a real rarity for me as I am an incurable track-skipper...
