Eldritch-isms

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Feeling slightly inspired by this http://www.myheartland.co.uk/viewtopic. ... 687#597687

I thought why not collect as many quips from :von: in one place?
Sarcastic, snarky & just plain odd. There are a fair few.

Enjoy the puppet show (reference to DM at Crystal Palace 93)

This one's for all the students on the balcony. It's called Amphetamine Logic.....it's about......logic (Newcastle 85)

Got any gems you can think of?

*prepares for thread to sink without a trace* :innocent:

"This is a song about cars, speed, speed and more speed. But above all, it's about speed. This is called Heartland."

From the NEC in '93:
"Your problem is that you were always 10 years too early" (after playing intro to 1959, before launching into 1969)

"Shut up!" (silencing the silly people who didn't think that :von:'s a capella rendition of Stop Dragging My Heart Around was worth the entrance fee)
"I won't go down in history, but I probably will go down on your sister."

from that Chicago, Riviera show (1/10/1999) that popped up on dime a week ago:

"We're always available for bar mitzvahs"
and something along the lines of "My name is Andrew and I'm here to serve you tonight"

Pukkelpop 92:
"It's not just the place, is it?"

I was one of the ugly people in the balcony :D

It wasn't really a balcony but it was the outside bit of the cycle track in a velodrome.
And it was the best show they ever played, so there! 8)

Then later in the same gig before Gimme Shelter
"This was written by a bald man too."
