Naked Voices

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

on the wiki, you wrote:For their cover art, the Naked Voices chose some b/w drawing in style of the famous painting The Scream by Edward Munch
Munch did four versions of The Scream - paintings and pastel drawings. The tape cover looks like a bad b&w photocopy of the pastel version at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Scream ... Pastel.jpg rather than "a 'b/w drawing in style of... the famous painting The Scream."
Hach, being pedantic can be so lovely at times ... ;D  ...

So OK. I'll mention that Munch did four paintings and pastel drawings plus at least one lithography of The Scream,
which somehow rings a bell regarding the BE single, which also has one picture from a series of a painter as cover art ... ;D ...

Anyway, I think the Nakes Voices Demo Cassette does rather look like the first tempera version of 1893
at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Scream ... Scream.jpg ... :?: ...

And I confess that I wrote "in style ..." because the copyrights for these pieces of art seem to be under strong observation (until 2015).

In German Wikipedia, there are only links to the Munch Museum Oslo, the Norwegian National Musuem,
and the Museum of Modern Art New York ... so I tried to formulate a bit, err ... careful ... 8) ...

You know the exact day of that F Club gig? I could add support acts "from Wakefield" to the SistersWiki page ... :D ...

Different band with a similar name, but not the same. (No 's').

And yes, if you click Naked Voice on that link it says Gary Marx. And yes, that's wrong also.

GUTHRIE HANDLEY IS NOT GARY MARX.

Very interesting photo of an old flyer on John Keenan's Facebook :

Meanwhile, back to the 1981 Fan club Xmas Party, the Expelaires are now claiming that this gig didn't take place because of the snow. :(

Seeing as John's comment was "Here's a treat for Sisters fans", I'm sure he would have no objections. Why not ask him ?
