Tony James and Generation Sex
Just caught 2 songs from their Glastonbury show. Good news - hair intact, which means he does look older than must legacy Sisters players. Can still play, looks cool. Bad news - rest of the band are f**king awful. Idol in particular, reading from an autocue. Just perfunctory covers you could get at ...

Re: Chris Starling & Curve?
I think they quickly went from a 2 piece to a 5 piece with Debbie and Alex so if Chris did much it was studio only. He was gigging as The Starlings in 91, saw him at the marquee. Same label as Curve

Re: Let's take a second . . .
. Also, on Twitter Chris C posted that he's been let go from Ghost. It doesn't seem like a very positive story - he's a very upbeat guy but it sounds like it might have ended badly. He's a really really nice guy, who is apparently still on good terms with Von, and is basically at a loose end? So ma...

Re: When was the last GREAT Sisters Gig ... ???
Although the Leamington gig was great at the time, part of that experience was because of how, shall we say, uninspiring they had been on previous tours. Very much this. It was also a very big HL turnout which helped :) I thought the 2011 gigs were the highlight for the Ben/Chris lineup - the 2 nig...

Re: 2023-05-10. The Fillmore DC, Silver Spring, MD
This is entirely different to the earlier DDOI vid. Ben is FAR too high in the mix here. I suppose it's possible that the sound was different in person in the venue, but this sounds like the front of house guy f**ked up. That or there was a serious issue with Von's vocals and they did this on purpo...

Re: 2023-05-10. The Fillmore DC, Silver Spring, MD
Woke up to a text from a local who says, "Ribbons was best track, good gig but could hardly hear him at times". Also, "where do all these goths go after the gig?" - they were out in force, apparently!

Re: Pukkelpop 2001 footage
I had a copy of this fogfest! I'll have a look but I fear disc rot will have got there first.. Still worth a look :-) Maybe there's a way to expand my current efforts Had a look, can't find it, sorry! The box I did find finishes with Hildesheim 2000 so there's another box somewhere in the mysteries...

The live space in the London one is between the bar and the lanes, all downstairs. Makes the crowd space v narrow

From memory, Chris Starling was editing the live footage for the never to be released DVD around 2002-2003ish.

If the venue's like the Brooklyn Bowl in London then this is going be a weird gig.
Re: heartland
I don't think his nibs could pull off the vocals for the ending these days so I doubt we'll ever hear it again, especially now Chris has gone. Only way to do it would be to get the crowd to do the chorus finale while Ben inevitably does what he does. Never had a problem with Gary's parts on this - t...

Re: Idea for a new book.
Tim, Tony, Andreas, Adam and Chris give you the through-line from then to now. Add in various producers/engineers and crew and you could write around AE's absence. Sprinkle with Terri Nunn, Chuck D and Boyd. Make it an oral history and you're done

Re: Gift reissue plus extras
I haven't bought or listened to it but aren't Cadiz kind of beholden to release what they've been given without changing it? They shouldn't have to check and compare it if it's coming from the horses mouth. Do you think he listened to it to check the quality?
